Getting started

Choose one or more sounds, adjust their individual levels, and tap Start relaxing. Play, sound level, timer and Save stay together above the bottom navigation in both Sounds and Music, even while you scroll. Your phone’s media volume and the app’s sound level both affect loudness. Start low.

Sound when the screen is off

Start a session, then lock your phone. The app is designed to continue playing in the background. Calls, audio interruptions, a disconnected output or a device shutdown can stop playback. Restart the session yourself afterward.

Sleep timers and routines

Choose a timer before starting playback. The sound fades in gently and fades out during the final ten seconds. Stop playback to change the timer. Save a routine to keep your chosen playlist or sound blend and timer.

Music playlists

Open Music and tap a pack to see its songs. Packs holding songs from your playlist open automatically. Select songs in the order you want to hear them, across as many packs as you like. Tap Play playlist to play them one after another, or turn on shuffle before starting. Your playlist repeats until the timer ends or you stop it. Play, volume, timer and Save routine controls stay above the bottom navigation as you scroll. The separate play button on the right plays just that song in full, leaving your playlist unchanged. Stop playback before editing the playlist, shuffle or timer. Music and Sounds play separately: selecting music clears the noise blend, and returning to Sounds while stopped clears the previous song.

Downloading music

Music downloads once, then plays offline. In Music, tap the download arrow beside a song or download a whole pack; the arrow fills as it downloads and becomes Play when the song is ready. A song that still needs downloading shows “Connect to the internet to download.” while you’re offline. Downloaded songs stay on your phone, and the full library of 64 songs uses about 200 MB. Each pack is 10 to 40 MB, so download only the packs you want. Generated sounds never need downloading, and there are no separate pack purchases. Two hidden bonus songs download automatically when you’re connected.

Autoplay

Turn on Autoplay in Playback settings to keep music going after a single song. It continues through your other downloaded music. Music pauses after three hours, or sooner if you set a sleep timer; open Baby Hele to choose whether to keep listening.

Warm harmonies

In Music, open the Warm Harmonies pack for six original pad pieces: Warm Daylight (C major), Warm Twilight (A natural minor), Warm Clouds (C major pentatonic), Warm Dawn (F Lydian), Warm Moonlight (D Dorian) and Warm Evening (E-flat major). These are soft, sustained musical chords. Select any of them for your playlist, or tap the right-hand play button to hear one in full. Each original piece lasts 96 seconds. You can save a playlist and its shuffle setting with a timer as a routine.

Android playback

Android shows media controls while a session is playing. Allow notifications when asked if you want notification controls. On Samsung phones, battery settings can affect background playback; check a short screen-off session on your device before relying on a longer one.

The nightlight

Open Nightlight to choose amber, peach or red. Its brightness control affects the screen while the nightlight is open. Closing it restores the previous brightness. The screen stays awake while the light is open and the app is active.

Placement and sound levels

Keep your phone and cable out of the crib and out of reach on a firm, uncovered surface away from your baby’s head. Use the lowest useful volume and limit listening time. No app volume percentage certifies a safe sound level at your baby’s ears.

Free features, trial and Full Access

Baby Hele is free to download. White noise and the nightlight are always free. To use every sound blend, all music, playlists, Autoplay and saved routines, start the optional seven-day trial in the app. It begins only when you choose it, and a session that’s already playing keeps going if the trial ends. To keep everything, buy Full Access once for US$1.99; Apple shows your local price. The trial never becomes a subscription, and nothing is charged automatically.

Restoring purchases

If you bought Baby Hele before it became free, you keep full access. To restore Full Access or an earlier purchase on a new or reset iPhone, open About and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account. Apple handles payments and refund requests through your Apple Account. A purchase on iPhone doesn’t carry over to Android.

Availability

Baby Hele for iPhone is available now on the App Store, free to download, and requires iOS 17 or later. The Android version, for Android 8.0 or later, is in closed beta testing before its Google Play release. Join the Android beta to try it early.
